Have you ever been in a situation where you knew speaking up or stepping out could cost you everything?
That’s where Esther found herself. A young Jewish woman, taken from her home (wasn’t given a choice ), and chosen to be queen of Persia, she never imagined that God would use her position to save an entire nation.
An Unexpected Calling
When a royal decree threatened to destroy all the Jews in the kingdom, Esther’s cousin Mordecai sent her a message that still echoes through history:
“Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14
It was a turning point. She could stay silent and safe—or risk everything to stand for her people.
Choosing Courage Over Comfort
Esther didn’t rush in. She prayed. She asked others to fast and pray with her for three days. Then, with courage strengthened by God, she approached the king—breaking royal protocol and risking her life.
Her boldness and God’s providence turned the tide. The king granted her request, and the Jewish people were saved.
For Such a Time as This
Esther’s story reminds us that God positions us—sometimes in surprising or uncomfortable places—for a purpose bigger than ourselves.
You may not feel ready. You may feel the risk is too great. But God has already equipped you with everything you need for the moment He calls you to act.
Scripture to Hold On To:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
Reflection
Where in your life might God be asking you to step up or speak out?
What fears or risks make you hesitant?
How can prayer prepare you to respond with courage like Esther?
Prayer
Lord,
Thank You that You have placed me where I am for a reason.
Give me courage to follow Your leading, even when it’s hard or risky.
Help me to trust that You will go before me and provide all I need.
Let my life be used for Your glory and the good of others.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Much love,
x Linda
