Do you need God’s healing today — not just in your body, but in your heart and soul too?
In Matthew 9:20–22, Mark 5:25–34, and Luke 8:43–48, we meet a woman whose name we aren’t told — only her condition: the woman with the issue of blood. She had been bleeding for twelve years.
Her illness brought daily physical pain, but it also robbed her of her finances, as she had spent everything on doctors who couldn’t help her (Mark 5:26). Worse still, it left her socially isolated. Under Jewish law, she was considered unclean, unable to touch others or join in community life (Leviticus 15:25–27). Twelve years without a hug, a shared meal, or an embrace from a friend — just loneliness and rejection.
💡 But then… she heard about Jesus.
Stories of His healing power reached her ears. Faith began to rise in her heart. She said to herself, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed” (Mark 5:28).
It was risky. Being in a crowd while unclean could cost her her life — the law allowed for stoning. But faith pushed her forward. She pressed through the crowd, head down, until she saw the hem of His cloak… and reached for it.
Immediately, she was healed. Jesus stopped and asked, “Who touched me?” (Luke 8:45). Trembling, she came forward. He looked at her with the pure love of God and called her “Daughter”. This was more than physical healing — it was the restoration of identity.
In front of the crowd who had rejected her for years, Jesus declared, “Your faith has made you whole” (Mark 5:34). Not just cured — whole.
💭 Reflection
Jesus healed her body. He healed her emotions, breaking the shame of rejection. He healed her socially, restoring her to community. And He healed her spiritually, giving her a new life devoted to Him.
Maybe you, too, need to push through to Jesus — for healing, restoration, or freedom. Your risk may not be a physical crowd, but the fears, doubts, or disappointments that try to keep you from reaching out.
Ephesians 3:16–19 reminds us that His love is wide, long, high, and deep — and it fills us completely.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, give me the courage to push through everything that stands between You and me. Heal me in every part of my life — body, soul, and spirit — and restore my identity as Your beloved child. Amen.
